When you choose to become a member of the Psychological Professions Network, you are given the option of three membership types. The below information provides some guidance of who should choose which membership type:

Qualified and Trainee Psychological Professional Membership

You should select this membership if you are currently working in or training in the below professions:

PSYCHOLOGISTS:

  • Clinical psychologists 
  • Counselling psychologists
  • Forensic psychologists
  • Health psychologists

Associate and Assistant Roles  

  • Clinical associate in psychology 
  • Assistant psychologist

PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPISTS:

  • Cognitive behavioural therapists 
  • Counsellors 
  • Child and adolescent psychotherapists 
  • Adult psychotherapists 
  • Family and systemic psychotherapists 
  • Psychological therapists (other) 
  • Art, drama and music therapists with AHP professional leadership

PSYCHOLOGICAL PRACTITIONERS:

  • Psychological wellbeing practitioners
  • Children’s wellbeing practitioner
  • Education mental health practitioner
  • Mental health and wellbeing practitioner
  • Youth intensive psychological practitioner 

OTHER PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFESSIONS:

  • Associate Psychological Practitioners
  • Graduate Mental Health Practitioner
  • Practitioner Psychologist (other)

Aspiring Psychological Professional Membership

You should select this membership if you are not currently in a psychological profession, or training for a psychological profession, but you are considering a career in one of the psychological professional roles.  You must be over the age of 18.

Stakeholder Membership

REGISTER HERE

You should select this membership if you are an interested person. You may be a person who has used psychological services, a carer of someone who has used psychological services, a commissioner, a manager or leader with an interest in psychological care, or a member of another profession with this interest, or a member of the public.
