Registration Open for Core Mental Health Skills Training: Connect 5 ‘Train the Trainer’ Programme - March 2017

Health Education England has funded a unique national pilot Connect 5 ‘Train the Trainer’ Programme working with Public Health England and the Royal Society for Public Health.

Connect 5 is a mental health promotion training programme designed to increase the confidence and core skills of front line staff so that they can be more effective in having conversations about mental health and wellbeing, help people to manage mental health problems and increase their resilience and mental wellbeing through positive changes.

The Connect 5 ‘Train the Trainer’ Programme is a five day training programme for new Connect 5 Mental Health Awareness Champions who will graduate to deliver training within their own areas supported by the membership a new community of practice to be developed in collaboration with the Royal Society of Public Health and the North West Psychological Professions Network.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Primary Care
  • Allied Health Professions
  • Justice and Rehabilitation
  • Social Care
  • Housing
  • Social Enterprise and Third Sector
  • Pastoral, Further and Higher Education Support Services

The Offer: 25 funded Connect 5 ‘Train the Trainer’ places are available to staff working in community, health & social care settings in each of the nine PHE centre areas across England, in collaboration with HEE local areas.

Training Delivery Dates for the North West of England (*attendance will be required for all 4.5 days of training):

  • 21/03/2017, from 9:30am - 1:30pm
  • 22/03/2017, from 9:30am - 4:30pm
  • 23/03/2017, from 9:30am - 4:30pm
  • 30/03/2017, from 9:30am - 4:30pm
  • 31/03/2017, from 9:30am - 4:30pm

Venue: LGBT Foundation, 5 Richmond Street, Manchester, M1 3HF (3rd floor Conference Room)

Please be aware there are only a limited number of places available and it is anticipated that demand will be high, so you are advised to register at the earliest opportunity. Registration closes at 5:00pm on Tuesday 7th March 2017 but may close earlier should all available places be filled.
