The NW PPN and BABCP were delighted to co-host with the NW Talking Therapies (TT) BAME Positive Practice into Action Launch Event (Previously known as IAPT), which took place on the 16th January 2020 at The British Muslim Heritage Centre.
The full day event was facilitated by Saiqa Naz, co-author of the Positive Practice Guide, Chair of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Special Interest Group and currently works in Sheffield’s Specialist Psychotherapy Service.
This event was a great opportunity for service and clinical leads and therapists to come together in a safe place to think about how to improve access and recovery for BAME communities. It provided time to network with local BAME organisations and to be supported to think about how to implement the IAPT BAME Positive Practice Guide, develop action points and identify opportunities for collaboration.
