Professional Record Standards Body electronic discharge summary survey

The PRSB is undertaking a survey about electronic discharge summaries. The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) commissioned the PRSB to collaborate with them on a project to identify the standards required for electronic discharge summaries which would enable coded information from hospital discharge summaries to be sent to and re-used in GP practice systems. This would improve timeliness and patient safety, reduce the risk of transcription errors and, by ensuring the information follows the patient journey, improve continuity of care.

The survey seeks views on the content of an electronic structured discharge summary. Your views will inform and help focus national plans, being developed by NHS England and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), including priorities for 2015 to 16.

Please can you complete the online questionnaire which should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes. The survey closes on Monday 16 March at 5pm.
