Morning Session: Behaviour Change: Theories & Techniques - Dr Lucie Byrne-Davis & Dr Jo Hart, Manchester Medical School.

The recently published national review of the PWP Curriculum has identified that behaviour change models provide a useful addition to the core competencies of the PWP. This session will provide an overview of current behaviour change theory and share the evidence for techniques that have been shown to be effective in changing health behaviours. We will introduce a low intensity technique, based on theory and evidence, which healthcare professionals can use to talk to patients and clients about lifestyle behaviour change.
