The hope and initial thinking for this group is for it to become a shared learning and supportive space for qualified and trainee Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists. As CAPTs across the East of England are a small and expanding workforce, this network could become a key vehicle for promoting the profession and sharing the valuable work of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists. The work of this group will be led and developed by CAPTs in the East of England.

Our Community of Practice (CoP) is a new group comprised of qualified Clinical Associates in Psychology (CAPs) that work in various services across the East of England region. As a CAP CoP, we meet virtually every 6 weeks with the initial aims of providing peer support during the transition from a training to a qualified post, reflecting on practice and creating a hub of shared recourses.
Driven to establish and develop our role further, we are working alongside the regional CAP steering group to standardise the CAP role across teams and locations, clarify training and career progression opportunities for CAPs and highlighting emerging issues.

Meetings take place via Teams, four times of year. Please refer to the East of England PPN Events Page for upcoming CoP dates.
Meetings include discussing things like good practice, accreditation, new ideas e.g. for interventions etc. It’s also a good opportunity for continued professional development.
