A unique opportunity to gain invaluable training experience, working as part of a specialist team of qualified Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Counselling Psychologists. The Atrium Prison Counselling Service (APCS) provides brief term, solutions focused therapy to inmates across London as an integrated part of NHS mental health services. Atrium Clinic currently has vacancies for Trainee Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Counselling Psychologists (Masters and Doctorate level respectively) who have experience (Minimum 150 hours clinical experience) and a proven interest in working in Forensic settings.
Previous experience of working in NHS or institutional settings is an advantage. Atrium Clinic Honorary Practitioner placements provide Trainees with the opportunity to work onsite, 1 day a week, seeing a maximum of three clients per week. Specialist training and fortnightly clinical supervision is provided by the placement, and trainees can also undertake their mental health familiarisation training as part of their placement. Successful candidates will need to evidence their clinical training, experience, and ability to effectively manage risk. Excellent time management, the ability to multitask, work under pressure and have outstanding administration and organisational skills are also essential. A willingness to engage in ongoing training in this specialist setting is required. Minimum length of placement – 2 years.
