The NHS is now working with schools and colleges across England to provide expert mental health support for children and young people via Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). These are school based services that deliver evidence-based cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to support children, young people and parents with low to moderate level anxiety, low mood or behavioural difficulties. The teams are made up of Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPS), who are trained in delivering these approaches. The MHST senior clinician / supervisor will be responsible for the caseload management and supervision of EMHPs, they will also be responsible for working directly with schools and being the main point of contact for the MSHT with schools to support the delivery of support and Whole School Approaches to mental health and wellbeing. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Clinical & Strategic Lead and join an established team of senior clinical supervisors and mental health practitioners. The successful applicant will be expected to enrol on the PGDip CYP-IAPT Clinical Supervisors Course at KCL, which will be fully funded and start in January 2021.

Band 8a - MHST Senior Supervisor & Clinical Lead / Clinical Psychologist (Part Time - 30 Hours per week)

This Senior Supervisor & Clinical Lead post is a new post to support the clinical development and delivery of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in Essex. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of evidence-based CBT interventions in schools/colleges and providing supervision to members of the senior clinical team. The post holder would be expected to work closely with the Educational Lead to foster the integration of clinical and educational principles to support CYP with mental health concerns. We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist / Educational Psychologist / Family Therapist with expertise in the delivery of CBT to children and young people (CYP) and their families to manage anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems. Experience delivering supervision using a CBT framework is highly desirable, as is experience conducting clinical audits and evaluating research data to inform the delivery and development of clinical services. Experienced clinicians working within local or specialist services who have undertaken formal CBT training (e.g. CYP-IAPT) and gained appropriate supervisory and research experience would also be considered

Ormiston Families works in partnership with the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership to deliver evidence-based interventions across a group of schools.
The post holder will train in low intensity, CBT-informed interventions at the University of East Anglia as part of a whole school approach to improving children and young people’s mental health. You will be part of a Team based in Breckland or Norwich. There is an expectation that you will be able to travel independently to visit and work with educational settings in the area.

The post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision and caseload management of Trainee and Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) in the Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs). The team is expected to have 4 Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners, based in and around Breckland or Norwich. This is a fast-developing service and it is expected that there will be continued investment in this area over the next five years. There will be a responsibility to continue to supervise and caseload manage the trainees following their successful completion of the EMHP training.
