The New Now - A Regional Update PPN South East

30 Apr 20

Who would have thought that the whole world would so drastically change in such a short space of time! In the new now, we are all distanced and have been locked down, collectively adjusting to this uncharted time. It's a complex terrain that is unfolding as we speak. Amidst this pandemic crisis the focus has also shifted to the NHS more than ever and, increasingly, the psycho-social aspects of our lives…

In response to COVID-19, the PPN has been busy publishing resources (read more here), and hosted a 2nd national online workshop #PPsInto Action. The data is being analysed and you will more very soon. Meanwhile, Hannah Denton (Counselling Psychologist) who wrote a discussion paper for the PPN 'pre-COVID' reminds of the pertinence of wellbeing in communities, especially in these times and going forward. Please read more here.

It is also really important to keep an eye on the future. Here, I am particularly proud to announce that the electronic career map has been launched. Please promote this resource widely, which you can access by following this link. You will also hear more soon on the funding we have for a new project on widening participation, and PWP apprenticeships in the region.

More than ever, staying connected is crucial. As a network, we are well positioned to do this through hosting regional subnetworks, and sharing ideas, innovation and collaboration within a community of practice. Please read more here about new developments in the world of PPN Subnetworks. We also involve Experts by Experience in all aspects of our work and are always keen to hear of any initiatives across the region.

We are delighted to be expanding beyond Kent, Surrey and Sussex across the South East region. We have started to make connections with colleagues with links into Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West. And are also keen to link in with colleagues and stakeholders in the south-western part of the region, spanning across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Do let us know of any key meetings where we can present the PPN and discuss the SE expansion further, with a view to offering kick starter events.

There is always more to say, but this is for another time; such as updates on our 'pre-COVID' projects, and future events going forward in these new times.

Meanwhile, please keep supporting this thriving network by keeping in touch by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by following us on twitter @KSSPPN. And keep spreading the word to your colleagues to join at https://kss-ppn.nhs.uk

Regional PPNs all join up and form the PPN England. Together we can make a difference!
