Project update - forming evidence into practice partnerships

Read the latest update on our evidence-based practice project

One of the PPN KSS projects is focused on evidence-based practice. But what does “evidence-based practice” mean to you? We’d like to find out!

If you were at our inaugural conference back in October 2018, you might remember that our colleagues Nick Grey and Katrina Lake hosted a workshop on “Forming evidence into practice partnerships”. In the session, colleagues discussed that evidence-based care is not simply following NICE guidelines, but that it also incorporates the partnerships between clinicians and service users’ preferences.

We would like to explore this subject further, by conducting a survey on what evidence-based practice means to psychological professionals in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region. We are also interested in identifying what types of evidence are used in day-to-day work, and if there are any challenges associated with accessing, informing, and applying the evidence base.

We will then be collating the data in a report, which is expected to be completed by the end of March 2019. In the meantime, please keep an eye out for the survey – once the survey is live, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send it on to your colleagues so we reach as many people as possible in the KSS region.
