Tuesday AM - Next steps for the  psychological professions - realising our vision

The people of England are facing health and care challenges that demand radical action. The psychological professions can be part of the solution. Now is the time to redouble our efforts to grow and develop the psychological professions to enable a more psychological NHS. 
This session sets out plans for the next phase of delivery of the psychological professions vision to address the challenges and opportunities of the next five years.

Tuesday PM - Experts by Experience (EBE) in the psychological professions - Adding value  and transforming lives.

This is a co-produced and co-delivered session reviewing a range of involvements across the country to share and celebrate how EBEs work in partnership with healthcare staff to enhance learning, practice and to improve healthcare outcomes. Public involvement is a national requirement for the design and delivery of healthcare services and for EBE involvement throughout practitioner psychologist training.


Wednesday AM - What can the PPN do for me, and what can I do for the PPN?

The Psychological Professions Network started in 2013. In the last three years, the network has expanded to include regional networks across England. Membership is now over 10,000 and the PPNs contribute to developments and innovation nationally and regionally.

This session outlines the PPN model, provides examples of how the PPN has informed, enabled and influenced the development of the psychological professions and exploring how you can get involved.


Wednesday PM - Reflecting on equality and diversity in the psychological professions

This session centered around a panel discussion in which colleagues from a cross section of personal and professional backgrounds shared their stories of how they have experienced, navigated, or learned about issues of diversity and (in) equality in the psychological professions. 

Panellists shared their stories and debated key questions – with the opportunity for audience members to shape the discussion.


Thursday AM - Progressing your career in the psychological professions

This session explored stories to demonstrate the breadth of opportunities to develop your career across a range of psychological professions. 
The session included a focus on leadership development, clinical specialism, progressing into a clinical academic career and increased knowledge of options in relation to career breaks, return to practice or changing professional pathways.


Thursday PM - Experiences of the new psychological practitioner role

This session looked at the context of psychological professions careers and showcase the career map and animations.


Friday AM - Where next for  psychological practice in physical healthcare?

A growing number of the psychological professions work within physical health and primary care, as such it is an area ripe for workforce development and evidence based clinical innovation.
This session looked at ways in which the psychological professions are driving innovation within multi-professional physical health care settings and developing roles that have the potential to shape the future direction of physical health care.
