Clinical Academic Training Internships

Health Education England has launched the next round of applications for funding of clinical academic internships.The internship is designed to provide a dedicated period of time during which the individual will be able to develop their skills and expertise in aspects of clinical academic research.

Over a period of 30 days (between January and June 2015) the individual will

  • work with a research supervisor to follow a personalised programme aimed at increasing their research skills and expertise,
  • participate, along with the other interns, in a 5 day educational programme aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding of research, the wider NHS research community and personal development and career progression
  • be supervised and mentored by an experienced research supervisor

A single payment of £7500 will be offered to the Intern's employing organisation to facilitate release from their duties and cover travel and other reasonable expenses.

A fee of £1,000 will be paid to the organisation hosting the internship to cover the costs of supervision and mentorship.
